Tomory is a great athlete and one of the most fit players on the team. She had a strong rookie season, playing primarily at No. 6 singles. Tomory is a high-energy player with a contagious personality.
During her sophomore season, Tomory compiled a 12-11 singles record and a 5-2 SoCon singles record. She teamed primarily with Lisa Bornt-Davis at no. 3 doubles and went 14-8 overall and 7-0 in the Southern Conference. The two were named to the Second-Team All-SoCon for doubles. Tomory was also named to the spring SoCon Academic All-Conference team.
As a freshman, Tomory's 12-4 singles record included an 8-1 Southern Conference mark. She played doubles with several different teammates, picking up a conference win against Western Carolina with Shannon Moore.
Prep/Personal: Tomory went undefeated in the 16-and-under Tennis Championship for the Veneto Region in Italy in 2002 and won a 4th Category tournament in Venice. In 2003, she won a 3.3 Category tournament in Vicenza. Tomory was also victorious in the Bussolengo 3rd Category tournament in 2004 and the Padora 3rd Category tournament in 2005. Lauren is the daughter of Robert and Martha Tomory and was born on May 21, 1987. Her mother was the Furman women's tennis coach for the 1980-81 season and the gymnastics coach from 1979-81. She is a business administration major.
