One of Furman's finest tennis players, Osborne has yet to lose a SoCon singles match after going 6-0 as a junior and 9-0 as a sophomore and freshman. Osborne is extremely quick and tremendously talented.
During her junior year, Osborne compiled a 12-8 overall singles record, with a perfect 6-0 conference record. She played primarily at No. 2 singles and also teamed up with Jacqueline Eckert at No. 2 doubles. Together, they finished 15-4 overall and 8-0 in the Southern Conference. Osborne was named SoCon tournament MVP after her outstanding 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Link Leskosky of College of Charleston in the SoCon finals. Osborne was named Second Team All-conference for singles and the team of Eckert and Osborne was named Second Team All-conference as well. Osborne was also named SoCon Player of the Month for April.
As a sophomore, Osborne earned second-team all-conference honors in singles and doubles with unblemished league records. She played primarily at No. 3 in singles and teamed up with Jacqueline Eckert at No. 2 doubles. In her rookie season, Osborne won 21 singles matches, the most ever by a Furman freshman. She earned a spot on the All-SoCon second team in singles. Her only SoCon losses have come in doubles play during her first season as a Paladin.
Prep/Personal: Osborne helped lead Highland Park to two state titles and appearances in the state championship match four straight years. She was an individual state champion in 2004 and a doubles champ in 2003. Lauren is the daughter of Jeff and Donna Osborne and was born on August 12, 1986. She is majoring in communication studies.
