Furman Climbs Four Spots At Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

Athens, Ga. -- The Furman women's golf team used a 26-over-par 314 to climb to 13th place after the second round of the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic Saturday afternoon at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

Blair Lamb (79-77=156) fired a five-over-par 77 to pace Furman who opened the day in 17th place. Sophomore Corrine Carr (81-78=159) and freshman Jaclyn Hilea (83-78=161) contributed to the Paladins' second round surge each carding a six-over 78 on the par 72 layout. Freshman Stefanie Kenoyer (75-81=156) struggled to an 81, but maintained a share of the team lead along with Lamb in 31st place.

Purdue's Maude-Aimee Leblanc (74-72=146) and Duke's Amanda Blumenherst (74-72=146) each posted even par on Saturday to move into a share of first place one stroke ahead of Georgia's Krystal Caithness. The host Bulldogs (302-300=602) notched the day's low score at 300 to take a three stroke lead over Purdue.
