Three Paladins Shoot 75 In UCF Challenge Final Round Action

Sorrento, Fla. -- A trio of Paladins shot three-over-par 75 and Furman posted a third round 307 to finish 18th at the UCF Challenge at the 6,356-yard RedTail Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

Junior Blair Lamb (65-71-75=220) claimed a 31st place finish to lead Furman after registering 14 pars and a birdie in final round action to card a 75. Sophomore Ashley Baker shot three-over-par for her best round of the week while recording two birdies and playing the front nine at one-over. Freshman Jaclyn Hilea (80-79-75=234) also posted a 75 on the strength of three final round birdies.

Duke's Alison Whitaker (65-71-72=208) played Tuesday's round at even par to claim individual honors just two strokes ahead of second place Junthima Gulyanamitta (72-66-72=210) of Purdue. The Blue Devils' Amanda Blumenhurst (69-68-74=211) rounded out the top three to help Whitaker lead Duke (282-282-287=851) to a nine-stroke victory over Purdue (289-283-288=860).

The teams in the Challenge, which include 15 of the country's top 25 teams and 19 of the top 25 individuals, have combined to win 11 national championships. The medalist from the 2008 UCF Challenge will receive a sponsor's exemption into the LPGA's Ginn Tribute Hosted By ANNIKA (May 26-June 1, 2008).
