The Furman women's basketball team will travel to Charleston, S.C. to take part in the Southern Conference tournament this week. The seventh-seeded Paladins will face the tenth-seeded Wofford Terriers on Thursday.
The game will be played at 3:00 p.m. in the North Charleston Coliseum.
Furman leads the overall series 26-4. The two teams split games this season, with Wofford earning at 77-71 victory in the first meeting, and Furman coming out on top with an 83-44 performance against the Terriers in February.
The Paladins are coming off a 59-55 win over UNC Greensboro, a victory which earned them the seventh-place seed for the tournament. Sophomore Lee Stephens led the Paladins with 14 total points, while junior Sarah Baker recorded 11 and freshman Kendra Berry added a career-high 10 points to the winning effort. Junior Katie Johnson led the team with seven rebounds.
Wofford boasts a season record of 9-20 overall, and a 2-16 Southern Conference mark. The Terriers finished the regular season with a 16-game losing streak. Wofford's last win was against Furman on January 5.
