Andy Sobczyk Class: Senior Hometown: Pewee Valley, Ky. High School: Trinity HS Height: 5-10 Birthdate: 12/22/1985

In his junior season, Sobczyk saw significant playing time at the No. 3 singles position, posting a 4-19 overall record. He teamed with senior Ryan Friend to record a 5-12 mark in doubles action, including a 3-3 Southern Conference record.

After seeing significant action as a rookie, an injury halted Sobczyk's production last season. Now healthy and having competed in some premiere summer and fall tournaments, Sobczyk will challenge for a spot in the lineup. He is also one of the 2006-07 Furman captains.

Sobczyk did post several wins in 2006, including one to clinch the doubles point against Emory. As a frosh, three of Sobczyk's nine wins came over SoCon opponents Ga. Southern, UTC and CofC. Sobczyk played No. 1 doubles in his first season, recording a big win over a 28th-ranked Florida St. team with partner Allen Simmons.

Prep/Personal: Sobczyk finished his prep career ranked No. 2 in Kentucky. The three-time all-state honoree is the son of Walter and Patricia Sobczyk. He is majoring in health and exercise science and participates with the Athletic Service Board, HES Majors Club, and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Sobczyk was born December 22, 1985.
