Knause was another rookie who stepped into the Furman lineup immediately. He is a tremendous competitor who has proven he can compete at the collegiate level.
As a sophomore, Knause continued to perform, posting a 15-11 singles record, and a 7-1 singles record in the Southern Conference. His season included victories over then-32nd ranked Tennessee and then-33rd ranked Kentucky, helping the Paladins to a 4-3 victory.
Knause earned second-team all-conference honors in singles last year with an 8-1 record at the No. 5 position. He recorded two victories at the league tournament to help Furman win the crown and closed out the year on a five-match winning streak. He also had a very successful 2006 ITA Summer Circuit.
Prep/Personal: Knause was a key player in Christ Church Episcopal's four consecutive state championships. As a 16-year old, he was ranked among the top 35 in the country. He finished he prep career ranked No. 3 in the state of South Carolina and No. 3 in the South. Knause was born on May 3, 1987 and is the son of Terry and Lindy Knause. He is majoring in mathematics and economics.
