SoCon Tournament Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

Florence, S.C. -- Furman (291-295-303=889) posted a final round 303 to finish in a tie for fourth at the Southern Conference Men's Golf Championship at the par-72 Country Club of South Carolina on Tuesday.

Chattanooga (290-281-294=865) cruised to the title finishing eight strokes ahead of second place College of Charleston and nine shots better than third place Western Carolina. UNC Greensboro finished tied with the Paladins 25 strokes behind the leader.

Austin Reeves (73-71-74=218) paced Furman for the second consecutive day with a two-over-par 74 to finish in a seventh place tie at two-over for the 54-hole tournament. Ben Goforth (70-73-77=220), who earned All-Southern Conference honors on Tuesday, shot a final round 77 to finish in a 14th place tie at four-over-par while Garrett Schneider (75-75-75=225) carded his third straight 75 to claim a share of 24th.

Matt Cook (75-67-69=211) of Western Carolina completed a furious rally with a three-under 69 on Tuesday to claim individual medalist honors at five-under-par. Cook, who finished four strokes in front second place finishers Nathan Stamey of UNCG and Ben Rickett of Chattanooga, played the final 36 holes at eight-under.

Chattanooga, ranked 12th in the nation, receives the SoCon's automatic bid to next month's NCAA Regionals.
