Furman: Versatile performer who can play both guard or tackle but who has battled injuries throughout his Furman career...missed 2006 spring practice due to rehabilitation efforts associated with an injured shoulder sustained during the 2005 season...a return to health will be a major plus for the Paladin offensive line, where he will enter the preseason listed as the backup to returning All-Southern Conference right tackle John Kivett...absence from most recent spring practice was his second straight...sat out the 2005 spring season after undergoing a second surgery to have a pin inserted for a fractured foot....had undergone surgery following spring practice in 2004 for the same fractured foot...was considered by position coach Clay Hendrix to be Furman's best offensive lineman prior to 2004 campaign...transferred into the Furman program in the spring of 2003 from Air Force Academy. 2005 -- Registered playing time in nine games as backup offensive guard and tackle but was slowed midway through the season with a shoulder injury...has 17 knockdowns in 182 snaps...managed to post three winning grades, including an exceptional mark of 2.04 (96.2 percent) on 26 plays versus Samford (45-23 win)...logged a season high 43 snaps in season opening 37-35 win at Jacksonville State...named to SoCon Academic Honor Roll. 2004 -- Entered the preseason as the projected starting left guard but was sidelined very early after it was discovered that his surgically repaired foot had failed to heal...missed the first three games before only start of the season (33 plays) against Pittsburgh (41-38 loss)...registered his final action of the season (seven plays) the following week against Western Carolina (31-10 win) before being sidelined for the duration of the campaign...underwent a second surgery in the calendar year...was awarded a medical redshirt. 2003 -- Fashioned a solid inaugural season...saw action in all 11 games and earned a pair of starts at left guard after injury sidelined Clayton Dyson...totaled 377 snaps on the campaign...registered 65 knockdown blocks...had six winning performances and an exceptional grade of 2.00 (96.7 percent) on 29 plays versus Elon (24-7 win)...helped pave the way for all-conference tailback Hindley Brigham, who rushed for 1,042 yards. 2002 -- Saw limited action at Air Force.
