Furman: Projected to enter the 2008 campaign on the injured list after suffering a torn labrum while pitching for the Leesburg Lightning of the Florida Collegiate Summer League (FCSL)...anticipated return date is late March...hurled only 5 2/3 innings for Leesburg before injury...Lightning went on to post 23-12 record and claim 2007 FCSL crown...sports a strong arm and has good upside potential...best pitch is a slider...a healthy return will add depth in the Paladin bullpen. 2007 -- Endured a rough first season at Furman, appearing in 13 games and working 20 2/3 innings...posted a 1-3 record...started two contests...picked up his first collegiate win in a 6-5 triumph over Lafayette (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2K)....followed up the Lafayette outing with a solid performance in an 8-7 loss to Yale (2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 K)...allowed only a run on four hits while striking out four in season high 4.0 innings in a 15-4 loss at Elon...named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
