Chick-Fil-A Cherrydale Point Paladin Tailgate Show
The Chick-Fil-A Cherrydale Point Paladin Tailgate Show in front of Timmons Arena will begin two hours before kickoff!
Two hours prior to kickoff, Bill Timmons Drive in front of Timmons Arena will be closed to allow for the fans access to the Chick-Fil-A Cherrydale Point Paladin Tailgate Show. Click Here to view a game day traffic map.
For the 13th consecutive year Furman baseball coach Ron Smith will serve as the Chick Fil A Cherrydale Point Paladin Tailgate Show co-host along with newcomer Dwight Covington, Furman's Athletic Ticket Sales Coordinator. Joining Covington on stage will be DJ Beach Bob Ross, who will provide music and pre-game entertainment for Furman fans. Nine-year Furman broadcast team veteran Dave Cohen and former Furman offensive lineman Ed Patterson will handle pre-game festivities at Chick Fil A Cherrydale Point. Cohen will also coordinate the Lowes Home Warehouse halftime and post game highlights shows.
During the show, Coach Smith and Caroline Harrington of UpState Atmosphere Magazine will be roaming the tailgate and parking lot areas looking for the Publix Tailgater of the Game! Each home game winner will receive a Publix Gift Card, a six pack of Pepsi Cola, Paladin Game Day T-Shirts, one night complimentary stay at Hampton Inn Travelers Rest, and a Furman Football Fan Game Pack, and be entered in our Publix Tailgater of the Year Contest for a chance to win a catered tailgate at the Georgia Southern Game on November 11th.
Two hours before kickoff Covington and Ross will be interviewing fans in the crowd, playing interviews with Furman Players, speaking with Furman Flashes from the Past, playing Paladin Fan Trivia, and interviewing Furman Coaches, all leading up to the Paladin Regiment Concert one hour and twenty minutes before kickoff. The tailgate show will culminate at one hour and fifteen minutes before kickoff when Head Football Coach Bobby Lamb will lead the 2006 Furman Football Paladins in the Paladin Walk from the front of Timmons Arena to Paladin Plaza to "Polish the Diamond F" before entering Paladin Stadium.
