Paladin Walk
On November 6th 2004 a tradition was rekindled when Coach Bobby Lamb lead the Paladins on The Paladin Walk prior to the Georgia Southern game, which the Paladins won 29-22 on their way to the 2004 Southern Conference Championship. Since that day the Paladins' home record is 16-1 with the lone loss coming at the hands of eventual 2004 National Champion James Madison University in a 14-13 heartbreaking quarterfinal playoff game that same year.
The tradition continues when the 2007 Furman Football Paladins will exit the athletic office doors of Timmons Arena one hour and fifteen minutes prior to kickoff and walk up Bill Timmons Drive to Paladin Plaza where each player and coach will pause to "Polish the Diamond F" on the base of the Paladin Statue before entering Paladin Stadium. Land Rover of Greenville is the official car of the Paladin Walk as it carries the Furman Cheerleaders and tows the Furman Victory Bell up to Paladin Plaza. A Jr. Paladin Club member is selected to be the Bell Ringer for each home game and ride in the Land Rover and ring the Bell. The Paladin Regiment adds a tremendous parade atmosphere to the Walk this year as they join the Furman Cheerleaders as the team exits Timmons to lead the Paladins to Paladin Plaza. The Regiment will remain in Paladin Plaza to entertain all Paladin fans with a twenty minute concert before entering Paladin Stadium.
Be part of the tradition by lining Bill Timmons Drive and Paladin Plaza to cheer the Paladins into the stadium!!
